Jose Gomez, MSW

Jose Gomez, MSW is an accomplished management professional with extensive experience in community outreach, health equity, and program development within elite healthcare organizations. As the Center Administrator for the National Center for School Crisis and Bereavement (NCSCB) at CHLA, he is dedicated to fostering programs that support schools and communities in times of crisis.

 

With a strong background in oncology-focused community engagement, Jose has led initiatives to increase equitable access to cancer clinical trials and healthcare services. Prior to joining CHLA, he served as Manager of Community Outreach and Engagement at City of Hope, where he developed outreach programs, built strategic partnerships, and led advocacy efforts to promote health equity. Previously, at Cedars-Sinai, he played a key role in advancing cancer clinical trial participation among underrepresented communities, managing health equity initiatives, and overseeing performance improvement projects.

 

Jose holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from UCLA and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from USC. He has presented research at the Association of American Cancer Institutes (AACI) on innovative strategies to enhance clinical trial diversity and reduce health disparities. His expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and program evaluation positions him as a leader in crisis and bereavement support within the education sector.
